The Region of Lombardy has provided employment incentives for the year 2021 for employers who hire, with the aim of boosting employment within the region.
Specifically, employers who have production units/operating headquarters located in the Lombardy Region and hire new employees may receive a subsidy, differentiated according to the difficulty of accessing the labor market for workers, as follows:
Workers up to 54 years of age = provided a contribution of Euro 5,000.00;
Female workers up to 54 years of age = provided a contribution of Euro 7,000.00;
Workers 55 years of age and older = expected to contribute €7,000.00;
Female workers 55 years of age and older = provided a contribution of Euro 9,000.00.
An additional 1,000.00 euros is added to these amounts if the hiring is made by an employer with fewer than 50 employees or by a company established or acquired by workers, including in the form of a cooperative, who come from companies in crisis (so-called "workers buyout").
Employers at which work suspensions related to a company crisis or reorganization are in progress are excluded from the contribution, except in cases where the hiring concerns workers classified at a level different from that held by the suspended workers or to be employed in production units other than those affected by the suspension.
